I recently upgraded to a Sonos Arc with the surrounds and sub. Wow, what a difference! The soundstage is massive and the dialogue is crystal clear.
In order to get the best out of your soundbar, make sure you get a room calibration. It took a while to dial in my settings, but the difference is night and day! It's not just about the hardware, it's about the setup.
Your mileage may vary, but I've generally found that wireless surrounds struggle with latency and dropouts. The whole immersive feeling goes away when you hear a glitch.
Totally agree with the Dolby Atmos sentiment. I've got the Sonos Arc and it's amazing in some scenes but falls flat in others. Has anyone found a way to get the best out of these systems with different content types?
I tried a Dolby Atmos soundbar, but it felt gimmicky. The height channels were there, but the surround effect was lacking. I ended up going with a 5.1 system and it's a night and day difference.
