Chilka Lake: The Largest Coastal Lagoon in India - Worth the Visit?
I'm planning a trip to Odisha and am considering a visit to Chilka Lake. I've heard it's the largest coastal lagoon in India and a great spot for bird watching, but I'd love to hear from those who have been. Is it worth the time? What are the must-see spots and best times to visit?
Chilka Lake is absolutely stunning! I went during the winter migration season and saw thousands of birds. The sunset view from the lake is breathtaking.
The best time to visit is definitely during the winter. The weather is pleasant, and you can see a variety of migratory birds.
Have you thought about hiring a local guide? They can take you to the best spots and share plenty of insights about the area.
It's a great place if you enjoy outdoor activities. There are plenty of opportunities for kayaking and paddle boating. The biodiversity there is truly amazing
I saw some beautiful photos from Chilka, but I also heard the roads are terrible. Anyone know if that's true?
I disagree, it's overrated. I found the crowds to be overwhelming and the boat rides were quite expensive. I expected more from such a famous spot.
