My son having severe side effects from Oncaspar for leukemia treatment, need advice for family

I am really worried about my son as he is on the Oncaspar 750/ml Inj, 5ml for his leukemia. He is showing some serious signs of high blood sugar and bleeding! I don't know what to do. I wanted to know if anybody else's child has gone through this and has any advice. The doctors are doing their best, but I feel like I need to do more for my child. What can I do to help him?

I'm glad you're reaching out. It's important to have support during this time. You're not alone.

I had a similar experience with my brother. He had severe headaches and neurological symptoms. Make sure to monitor his symptoms closely and document everything. It can help the doctors adjust his treatment plan.

Bleeding is a scary one. Watch for any signs of internal bleeding or further issues. It might be time for the meds to be recalibrated or changed. I’ve heard some families switch to alternative treatments when things get too rough.

This is a rough time for your family. Lean on your support system and keep pushing for answers.

Doctors sometimes have to closely watch the side effects, reduce dosage, or use an alternative treatment. Keep in touch with your medical team.
