Life-Changing or Unbearable? My Experience With Lamotrigine ODT 50mg Tablets
I was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder and my doctor prescribed Lamotrigine ODT 50mg Tablets to help manage my mood swings. I've been taking them for about a month now, and I'm not sure if I'm feeling better because of the medication or if it's just my imagination. The medication works by calming overactive nerve signals in the brain, which sounds promising, but I've been experiencing some side effects that are making me hesitate to continue. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this medication?
Lamotrigine saved my life. I was having multiple seizures a day, and now I’m seizure-free. The side effects sucked, but it was worth it to get my life back.
Honestly, I think the side effects are worth it if it helps stabilize your mood. I've had some dizziness and nausea, but my mood swings are so much more manageable. It's worth talking to your doctor about adjusting the dose or trying a different medication if the side effects are too severe.
I had no idea Lamotrigine could cause such severe side effects. I'm glad I read this thread before starting any new medication.
I’ve never heard of Lamotrigine before. How did your doctor determine this was the best medication for you?
