Just started Salsalate 750mg Tablets for arthritis pain. Any tips or warnings?
I was recently prescribed Salsalate 750mg Tablets by my rheumatologist to manage my arthritis pain. I've heard it's a bit different from other NSAIDs, so I'm curious to know if anyone else has experience with it. I've been taking it for a few days and already feel a slight difference. I want to know, how long does it take for the full effects to kick in? What were your side effects like? Did you notice any changes in diet or sleep? I want to make sure I'm managing my pain the best way possible, so any input would be super helpful! Thanks in advance to anyone who has used this before. Finally, has anyone experienced any of the severe side effects listed in the warning? My doctor downplayed them, but I’m a bit worried.
I've been on Salsalate for a few months now and it's helped a lot with my joint pain. Give it a couple of weeks to really start working. As for side effects, I've had some mild stomach upset, but nothing too bad. Plus, my doc said this one is generally easier on the stomach than others, no blood thinning issues either! 👍
I had no idea this drug could cause kidney problems. I thought NSAIDs were generally safe for that. I'm going to talk to my doctor about this.
I've been on this for years with no issues. I always take it with food and drink plenty of water. Maybe that helps. I'm not sure!
Be careful with that stuff. My mom had to stop taking it because it messed with her blood pressure. Monitor your blood pressure regularly.
