Just got prescribed Hydrocodone 20mg ER capsules for chronic pain. What can I expect?
I've been dealing with severe, long-lasting pain and my doctor just prescribed me Hydrocodone 20mg ER capsules. I've never taken opioids before, so I'm not quite sure what to expect. The medication guide lists a ton of side effects, and I'm a bit worried. Has anyone else taken these? What were your experiences? I know everyone is different, but I'd love to hear some real-life stories or advice. Also, what should I do if I experience any side effects? Should I stop taking them immediately, or is there a safer way to handle it?
I was on these for a while after a bad injury. They helped with the pain but I felt really groggy all the time. Also, the constipation was brutal. Make sure you stay hydrated and maybe talk to your doctor about a stool softener.
I had a bad reaction to these. Started getting hives and my throat felt tight. Scared the crap out of me. If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction, get to a doctor ASAP.
If you experience any serious side effects, like trouble breathing or severe dizziness, seek medical help right away. Don't wait to see if it gets better. Better safe than sorry. Also I took these and they made me constipated. If you take these take stool softeners because you will be stoppped up big time.
Did your doctor mention anything about dependency? I know these can be really addictive, Make sure you have a plan for getting off them eventually.
I get stomach pain every time I take them. Worst thing ever. I'm off them now, thank god.
