Just experienced Adenosine 6mg/2ml Inj 2ml in the ER! What should I expect?
I was just given an injection of Adenosine 6mg/2ml in the ER. It was pretty scary. I was told it was for a condition SVT. I'd like to know more about this medication. How does it work? What are the possible side effects? And what does it feel like? I’m curious what others have experienced. Did you have any side effects? How long did they last?

I was scared about having SVT but the Adenosine worked. I was told that Adenosine is super fast acting and I believe it! I'm just glad they don't do a longer infusion on this stuff or I'd be freaking out all day.
I was super anxious before the injection and the nurse told me to ask the doctor for a small dose of ativan right before. It really helped with the jitters. I was surprised how quickly the medication worked on my heart, it was amazing to feel! But I did have shortness of breath for a few seconds, just like others mentioned.
