I just had a Marcaine/Epinephrine 0.5% Inj injection for surgery. What should I expect?
I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. I know it's a combination of bupivacaine and epinephrine, but I'm worried about the rare but serious side effects mentioned in the patient leaflet. Has anyone had a similar experience? What did you experience after the injection? Did you have any of the side effects? How did you manage them? How long did the numbing effect last? Any tips for a smooth recovery?
The sensation of my arm going numb during the ultrasound was really odd, but it was nothing compared to the list of side effects I'd been reading about.
