Has anyone had success or side effects using Avodart 0.5mg Capsules for BPH?
I recently started taking Avodart 0.5mg Capsules for an enlarged prostate. So far, I've noticed some improvement in my urinary symptoms, but I'm a bit concerned about the potential side effects, especially the sexual health issues. Has anyone else had success with this medication? I'm curious to know if others have experienced similar side effects and how they managed them. Also, for those who have stopped taking it, did the sexual side effects reverse? I'd appreciate any insights or advice from those who have been through this.

None of the sexual side effects happened to me, and my prostate symptoms were way better after a few months. This is my experience. I switched to Avodart after Finasteride didn't work. My urologist said this is more potent. My prostate shrank and my flow improved, but I had to deal with some dizziness and decrease in libido. Your mileage may vary.
Its crazy that a treatment for prostate can mess with your sexual health. Why not just ignore the prostate issue until surgery is needed?. Maybe a bit too much of a tradeoff for some...
I had a friend who switched to Avodart from a different medication and saw a huge improvement. He said he got a bit of dizziness at first, but it went away after a couple of weeks. I had no clue he had this problem, I guess he didn't want to talk about it too much! His PSA levels went down too, so that's a plus.

Be prepared for any sexual side effects to be very persistent. I've had a few guys that got symptoms over a year after stopping. Still no firm idea why.
