Dutasteride/tamsulosin 0.5-0.4mg CP: Experiences and Side Effects
I was recently prescribed Dutasteride/tamsulosin 0.5-0.4mg CP for BPH. The combination of dutasteride and tamsulosin seems to be helping with my symptoms, but I've been experiencing some side effects. Has anyone else had issues with sexual side effects like decreased libido or difficulty maintaining an erection? Are these side effects likely to go away? How long did it take for them to subside? Additionally, I've heard about the potential for priapism. Has anyone experienced this, and if so, what was it like? I want to be prepared in case something serious happens. I’ve also been concerned about the possibility of breast-related symptoms. Has anyone had any experience with that? My doctor brushed it off but I want to hear from real people who've taken this medication.
I had a really bad experience with priapism. It was terrifying, and I had to go to the emergency room. They had to treat it with medication, and it was a pretty intense experience. If you ever feel that painful erection, go to the ER immediately. It’s not worth waiting.
I’ve been on this medication for about 6 months now. The sexual side effects were rough at first, but they’ve gotten better. It took about 3 months for my libido to return to normal. Just hang in there.
Priapism is no joke. I’ve heard stories from guys who waited too long and ended up with permanent issues. Better safe than sorry.

I've been on this meds for a while now and I've found that the side effects are manageable. I had a bit of a runny nose and some dizziness at first, but it all cleared up within a few weeks. Stick with it, man.
