Has anyone experienced severe side effects from Methergine 0.2mg/ml Inj, 1ml?
I recently gave birth and was given Methergine 0.2mg/ml Inj, 1ml to help my uterus contract and stop excessive bleeding. I've been experiencing some concerning symptoms and I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar issues. The potential side effects listed are quite alarming, especially the urgent ones like seizures and neurological symptoms. I've had a bit of a headache and stomach pain, which I guess could be normal, but it's still worrying. Has anyone else dealt with this, and how did you handle it? Did you report your side effects to the FDA? I'm just looking for some advice and reassurance right now.
I had a pretty bad experience with this drug. I ended up needing to be hospitalized because I kept passing out. It felt like I had a severe case of low blood pressure. If you can, stay in the hospital until you're stabilized.
I had Methergine after my second delivery and it was a nightmare. I developed a severe headache and couldn't stop vomiting. It was absolutely miserable. Make sure you talk to your doctor about it as soon as possible!
I had Methergine after my delivery and everything was fine, but I’ve heard horror stories. The thing that always sticks with me when talking about meds is the totally unexpected nature of their side effects. Always good to report them, so keep an eye on those symptoms and stay safe.
These side effects sound awful! My sister had a seizure while on Methergine and was later diagnosed with an allergy. She reported it and they said it was the first time they had heard of this happening. Just be cautious and stay in touch with your doctor.
I was given Methergine after my C-section and I had to ask for more pain medication to help with the cramps, but I didn't experience any of the other symptoms. I feel lucky, but it's definitely something to be cautious about.
This is very worrisome. I didn’t have any issues but, reading this, I’m glad I didn’t.
I’ve never heard of that before. Is it a common drug to get after giving birth?
All I can say is that I had some pretty awful stomach cramps, but nothing was life-threatening, and I don't know what to say.
