Elavil (Amitriptyline) 150mg: My Experience with This Medication for Nerve Pain and Depression
I've been taking Elavil 150mg tablets for the past 6 months to manage my nerve pain from neuropathy, and it's been a game-changer. I initially started taking it for depression, but my doctor switched me because I was also experiencing chronic nerve pain. It works by affecting the chemicals in your brain, so it can make you feel really sleepy, especially when you first start taking it. I take it at bedtime, which helps with the drowsiness. For me, Elavil has been amazing for my depression and it also helped with the migraines. I would say the side effects are worth it, but I haven't seen a lot of side effects or depression related to it.

Elavil kept my migraines at bay, but the drowsiness was a bit annoying at first, but I've managed it by taking it right before bed. It's worth it for the pain relief.
I switched from Elavil to a different medication because the side effects were too much for me, but I can see how it would be effective. I ended up finding Lyrica works much better. Do not like the weight gain side effects at all.
