Anyone have experience with Zyprexa Relprevv 300mg injectable? I'm thinking of switching to it for my schizophrenia, but I'm nervous about the side effects and the required clinic stay after each injection. Has anyone had any issues with Post-injection Delirium Sedation Syndrome (PDSS)? I'm also worried about weight gain and other side effects. Thoughts?
Staying at the clinic for 3 hours is a pain, but it's worth it. I had a friend who had a bad reaction and they caught it early because of the monitoring.
The PDSS thing is scary. Make sure you stay the full 3 hours. They monitor you closely, but it's still nerve-wracking.
I've been on it for a while and it's been manageable. The clinic stay sucks, but it's better than dealing with daily pills. Just make sure you talk to your doctor about any side effects.
I was on this med for a while and they switched me to another antipsychotic. I didn't notice any problems with weight gain, but I can tell you the constant shaky feeling was pretty bothersome.
I've gained 20 pounds in 6 months. I'm pretty sure it's the Zyprexa Relprevv. But it has helped with my manic episodes.
I had a bad reaction to it. Severe dizziness and I had to stop. Just be careful and listen to your body.
