Xylocain-Epineph 1%1:200k Inj, 10ml: Local Anesthetic with a Twist - Lidocaine and Epinephrine Combined. Should you be concerned with its side effects?
I recently had a procedure where Xylocain-Epineph was used as a local anesthetic. It contains Lidocaine for numbing and Epinephrine to prolong the effect and reduce bleeding. However, the side effects list is extensive, including rare but serious ones like methemoglobinemia and acidosis. I've always been cautious about medications, and this one seems particularly daunting. Has anyone else had experience with this drug?
