Vancomycin 1.25gm Inj 1 Vial: Experiences, Side Effects, and Safety Tips
I've recently been prescribed Vancomycin 1.25gm Inj 1 Vial for a serious bacterial infection. I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. What should I watch out for, and how can I minimize the risks? I've read that some people experience flushing and a rash during the infusion. If that happens, the nurse can usually slow down the rate, and it should go away. But if it doesn't, or if you start feeling short of breath, definitely speak up. My friend had that happen, and they had to stop the infusion for a while. It was scary, but they were fine in the end.
What about the long-term effects? I'm worried about what might happen after the infection is gone.
I've heard that diarrhea can be a common side effect. It might not be as severe as some of the other symptoms, but it can still be really uncomfortable and inconvenient. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids and eat a balanced diet to stay healthy. And get some pepto bismol before and after.
