Tusnel Pediatric Liquid: Is it safe and effective for my child's flu symptoms?
I've been trying to manage my toddler's flu symptoms for the past few days. The doctor recommended Tusnel Pediatric Liquid, which I've never heard of. The ingredients include Guaifenesin for mucus, Pseudoephedrine for a stuffy nose and Dextromethorphan for cough. Are there any major side effects we should watch out for? How do we know if it's working? What are your experiences with this medication? Thanks, moms and dads!
I've never heard of Tusnel. How is it different from other kids' cold medicines? I usually stick with Tylenol and Benadryl.
Just be cautious with anything that has pseudoephedrine. It can make kids really hyper and agitated. We tried it once and my daughter was bouncing off the walls. She didn't sleep at all that night.
I don’t think we’ll be using Tusnel again. My son had a really bad reaction to it last time. We ended up at the ER and it turned out he had an allergic reaction.
We used it last winter and it seemed to help with the cough a lot. Make sure to use the dosage cup that comes with it. I found it a bit hard to get the exact dose with a regular spoon.
My daughter had a fever and I gave her Tusnel. It helped with her cold, but the fever didn’t come down at all. One of the other parents suggested using Tylenol to bring it down.
