Tobramycin/dexamethasone Susp 5ml: My Eye Infection Journey and Side Effects
I was recently prescribed Tobramycin/dexamethasone Susp 5ml for an eye infection with inflammation. The doctor explained that it combines an antibiotic (tobramycin) to fight the infection and a steroid (dexamethasone) to reduce swelling and redness. I've been using it for a few days, and I'm noticing some improvements, but I'm also experiencing some side effects. Has anyone else used this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, especially regarding side effects and how long it took for the infection to clear up. Also, are there any tips for managing the side effects? Or any other eye drop alternatives?

I've used this before and it worked wonders for my eye infection. Just be careful not to touch the dropper to your eye to avoid contaminating it.

I had eye pain, which got worst over the past few days, but after I started using a warm compress it started to feel better. Sadly, I'm also experiencing eye irritation, and that has been consistent since I started using the medication. Has anyone else experienced the same?
I had a horrible reaction to the sterilized solution last time I used it. Do you know if there are any preservative free versions of it? I think that made a difference last time I needed eye drops
I had eyelid swelling and it was super uncomfortable, so I stopped the medication and called my doctor right away. I was very lucky I didn't have any other side effects. I think I'll have to be pretty careful about what the doctor recommends in the future.
This thread really brings up the importance of reading the side effects. While writing this, I realized I didn't know about the more urgent ones and definitely didn't realize the exact symptoms to look for. I think I'll have to call my doctor and see what the alternatives are.
I'm currently using this medication for a bacterial conjunctivitis. It's definitely helping with the infection, but I've also experienced some eye irritations and occasional blurred vision, but I'm hoping its just the infection and not the medication
