Tetracycline 500mg Capsules: My Experience with Side Effects
I've been prescribed Tetracycline 500mg for a severe acne outbreak and have been taking it for about a week now. So far, I haven't experienced any of the urgent side effects listed, but I am a bit concerned about the potential long-term effects. Has anyone else had any issues with this medication? I'm particularly worried about the possibility of a black, hairy tongue and other serious side effects.
Be careful with this stuff. I had a bad reaction to it once and ended up in the ER with some serious liver issues. Dark urine, yellow skin—it was scary. If you feel anything odd, get to a doctor right away.
I took Tetracycline for a respiratory infection a few years back. I didn't have any major issues, but I did experience a bit of stomach upset and some diarrhea. It cleared up quickly, though. Definitely stay hydrated!
I've been on Tetracycline a few times for skin infections. The first time I had horrible throat irritation and trouble swallowing. Doctor switched me to something else next time. Now waiting to see if this time is any different.
Tetracycline saved my life when I had a bad case of pneumonia. But I had to deal with diarrhea and it was rough.
I had a really bad bout of stomach pain and vomiting when I took Tetracycline. It was so bad I had to stop taking it. Definitely a rough experience, but it did work well for my skin infection before the side effects started. Just keep an eye out and talk to your doctor if anything bad happens.
I've had none of those issues, but I did get a bit of a rash. Turns out it was an allergic reaction. The doctor switched me to a different antibiotic right away.
This reminds me of the time my friend took it for acne and ended up with some serious diarrhea. It was awful!
I've heard it can cause some photosensitivity. Just a heads-up to wear sunscreen if you're outside a lot!
I've been taking it for a UTI and so far, so good. No side effects yet, but I'm keeping a close eye on things. Fingers crossed!
