Sumatriptan 6mg/0.5ml Vial For Inj: My Experience and Concerns About Side Effects
I've been using Sumatriptan injections for my cluster headaches, and while they've been effective, I'm concerned about the potential side effects. Has anyone else experienced any of the serious side effects listed in the medication guide? I've had some dizziness and flushing, but nothing too alarming. I'm just curious about others' experiences and if these side effects go away over time. I'm also wondering if anyone has had issues with insurance coverage for this medication since it can be quite pricey.
I've had some weird skin discoloration and tingling in my hands. I called my neurologist and they ran some tests. Turns out, it was just a mild reaction to the meds. Got off Sumatriptan after that. Yikes!
No side effects for me. Just make sure you're not on any other meds that can interact badly with Sumatriptan, like other triptans or SSRIs.
I was hospitalized for a severe allergic reaction: rash, hives, and swelling of the tongue. Turns out they can be fatal if not treated right away. I had to switch meds.
I had the misfortune of experiencing serotonin syndrome with Sumatriptan. It was scary. I ended up in the ER with fast heartbeat, confusion, and muscle stiffness. Definitely a one-and-done experience for me.
Severe stomach pain after using Sumatriptan. It was insane. I called my doctor and they said I might have a reaction to the medication. Thank goodness I caught it early.
Suffering through another cluster headache right now. Anyone have any practical advice for making injections less painful? I hate those.
I'm on my third month of using Sumatriptan and so far, so good, no serious side effects.
I've been on this for a few months and haven't had any serious side effects. Just a bit of dizziness and warmth, which go away pretty quickly.
It's terrible when you suffer from migraines. Anytime I can get relief from the pain, I'll take it. But yeah, be careful with these side effects. They can be nasty.
Just started on Sumatriptan. The dizziness and flushing are making me nervous. Is it worth talking to your doctor to see if there's a different dosage that might reduce side effects?
