Siltussin DM Alcohol Free Syrup: Lifesaver or Just Another Cough Medicine?

This medicine is supposed to help relieve cough and chest congestion by thinning and loosening mucus with Guaifenesin and reducing the urge to cough with Dextromethorphan. I've found it pretty effective, but I'm always a bit nervous about the potential side effects. The list is pretty scary, including serious allergic reactions and other issues that require immediate medical attention. Has anyone else experienced any of these side effects, or am I just being paranoid? I also want to know if anyone has reported side effects to the FDA and what their experience was like. I've found that taking Siltussin DM with a bit of honey can help with the taste. It makes it a bit more bearable, especially if you're taking it frequently. Plus, honey can have its own soothing effects on a sore throat.
