Side effects of Hydromorphone 0.2mg/ml Pf Inj, 1ml: scary or manageable?
I've been prescribed Hydromorphone 0.2mg/ml Pf Inj, 1ml for severe pain management after a recent surgery. While I'm grateful for the relief, I'm also really worried about the side effects. Some of them seem extremely serious, like serotonin syndrome or severe allergic reactions. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? Were the side effects as bad as they sound, or did you mostly have minor issues? I'm trying to stay positive, but I'd love to hear from people who've been through this.
I had a terrible experience with this drug. I’ll never take it again. If you’re looking for alternatives ask your doctor. I would look into other painkillers or even physical therapy. Stick with it. It’s a tough one.
Keep those legs moving! I asked my doctor about it, and they suggested if I needed to take another opioid. I did my own research and decided to go with a different painkiller.
This stuff is serious business. Make sure you're not mixing it with other heavy painkillers. I had a cousin who ended up in the ER with serotonin syndrome and it was rough.
I had a bad reaction to it once. I felt like I couldn't breathe and was shaking like crazy. Thought I was having a heart attack. Turns out it was just a severe allergic reaction. Never going back to that stuff.
Keep an eye on the dizziness and confusion. I got so disoriented I couldn't even stand up. Scared the hell out of me. But yeah, the constipation was the worst part for me too.
I find the long-term effects on sex hormones to be really concerning. I’ve been on it for a while, and I’ve noticed a definite decrease in my libido. It’s worth keeping an eye on, especially if you plan to be on it for a while.
