Scary side effects from Vancomycin! Has anyone else experienced these?
So, I was just prescribed Vancomycin 5gm Inj for a stubborn MRSA infection. I've been reading up on the side effects, and I'm a bit worried. The list is pretty long, and some of them sound really serious. I've only had one dose so far, but I'm already feeling a bit queasy. Has anyone else had experience with this? What should I expect? How have your experiences been?
Just had a friend in hospital with this - scary stuff, but it saved his life. Fight through it, hang in there!
Why are doctors still prescribing this? The side effects are no joke. I hope they come up with a better alternative soon.
Vancomycin is a tough one, but it's also really effective. Make sure you're staying hydrated, that can help with some of the side effects. Good luck!
I was lucky and didn't have any major issues. Just some stomach upset, but that went away after a few days. Hang in there!
I had to stop taking it because of the kidney issues. It was scary, but I'm glad I caught it early. Keep an eye on that!
I had a mild skin rash, looked up and it was on the list of side effects and alerted the doctor- glad I did! Don't hesitate to call your doc if you notice anything weird.
Yikes! Reminds me of that one time I had to stop my medication because of a weird rash. Hope it goes better for you!
