Rivastigmine 13.3mg/24h Patch: Experiences, Side Effects, and Tips
Has anyone used the Rivastigmine 13.3mg/24h Patch for treating Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease dementia? I'm curious about the effectiveness, side effects, and how it compares to other treatments. For example, I have been worried about potential skin irritation since it is applied directly to the skin. Any insights or personal experiences are welcome. To clarify, I am not a medical professional and anyone experiencing symptoms should contact a healthcare provider.
My dad has been on this for a year and it's helped a lot. He takes the patch off at night because he does have some trouble with the skin. He had irritation for about a month, but it got better. Always a good idea to check with your doctor before you stop using the medication.
I've had some trouble with dizziness and I think it's from the patch. It's been a bit disorienting. But overall, it's better than other meds we tried. I would say it's worth sticking with it if you find the right dosage and placement for the patch.
Is it true that this patch helps with memory and thinking more than other medications? I've heard mixed reviews.
The patch makes it so much easier to manage. I can’t imagine taking another pill every day. I don't experience any of the other side effects, but I did notice some drowsiness at night, which is weird for me because I don’t usually experience that.
Serious side effects are rare. I've been through the list and I don't think any of those are more common with Rivastigmine than with other medications, so don't stress too much. Just monitor and be careful.
