I agree with the injection technique tip. I've also found that applying a warm compress to the site after injection can help reduce irritation. But please, for my own sanity, don't ask your hematologist about the long-term effects — they can get quite scary. There is an extensive monitoring program if you have insurance.
I've had similar issues with injection site irritation. I found that using a different injection technique helped a lot. Instead of injecting directly into the muscle, try injecting at a 45-degree angle into the fatty tissue just below the muscle.
