Prevacid 15mg Capsules (Lansoprazole): My Experience and Questions
I was recently prescribed Prevacid 15mg Capsules for my acid reflux. I've been taking them for a couple of weeks now, and they seem to be helping with the heartburn. However, I've noticed some mild stomach discomfort. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, I'm a bit concerned about the potential side effects, especially the urgent ones. Has anyone had any issues like severe allergic reactions or kidney problems? What should I be watching out for?
I took Prevacid and Prilosec simultaneously... not a good idea. My doc warned me about mixing PPIs and I did it anyway. Almost ended up in the hospital. It's not worth it.
Only I would be the one to have an allergic reaction. If you get even a slight rash, stop taking it right away and go to the ER.
I'd rather deal with a little heartburn than the risk of any of those nasty side effects. I'm going to switch to a natural remedy instead.
I stopped taking Prevacid because I kept having trouble with diarrhea—turns out it was C. diff. Not fun, so be alert to that!
Be careful with PPIs; they can mess with your nutrient absorption. Make sure you're getting enough B12 and other vitamins.
I've had nothing but good experiences with Prevacid. I've been on it for over a year with zero issues. I don't understand all the negative comments.
I've been on it for a year and I get monthly blood tests to make sure my magnesium levels are okay. I noticed some muscle cramps that went away once I started taking more magnesium. No big deal.
I had to stop taking it because of the bone pain. My knees were killing me, and I'm only 45. It was a bummer but I feel better since I quit.
My doc told me there's a risk of severe skin reactions, like Stevens-Johnson syndrome. I didn't know that until now. Thanks for the heads-up!
