Parents, have any of your kids experienced side effects from Ngenla (24mg/1.2ml) injections? Here's what I know and my concerns...
My kid has growth hormone deficiency and is starting Ngenla injections. The doctor has explained the potential side effects, but I want to hear from parents who have actually been through this. I am curious about any side effects you've encountered and how you handled them. Also, I would love to know how the injections have affected your child's growth overall? How are you dealing with the weekly injections? Any tips and tricks for making the process smoother? I am particularly concerned about the rare but serious side effects, such as the slipped growth plate in the hip. Please share your experiences and any advice you have for someone starting out!
I'm glad you're doing your research. Serious side effects are rare, but it's always good to be prepared. I had to take my daughter to the ER once because she had severe stomach pain and vomiting. Turned out to be pancreatitis, and it was scary. We've been more vigilant since then.
My son has been on Ngenla for a year now, and we haven't had any serious side effects. Just a bit of redness at the injection site which goes away quickly.
