I've just started using Esperoct 2000 unit Inj 1 Vial for my hemophilia A. I've heard it stays in your system longer thanks to being pegylated, allowing for less frequent injections. I'm excited about that, but I'm also a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else had any experience with this medication? How did you manage side effects like irritation at the injection site or more urgent symptoms? I'm particularly concerned about allergic reactions. My friend was on Esperoct and he had to switch back because he started having some serious allergic reactions. Be vigilant. If you feel anything weird, get it checked out.
I switched to Esperoct from another Factor VIII medication and the difference is amazing. The pegylation really does help, but be aware that the first few injections can be a bit sore. It's not the worst side effect in the world though.
Just wanted to mention that if you experience chest pain or any signs of an allergic reaction, go to the ER immediately. It's not worth waiting to see if it gets better. Better safe than sorry.
