My Experience with Disulfiram 250mg Tablets for Alcohol Cessation
I've been taking Disulfiram 250mg Tablets to help me stop drinking alcohol. Sometimes I see these side effects listed but I want to know if anyone else has experienced these. The medication works by causing an unpleasant reaction if you drink alcohol while taking it, which includes flushing, nausea, vomiting, and a throbbing headache. It's meant to discourage you from drinking alcohol. How effective has this drug been for others? I've experienced some of the side effects listed but I've been trying not to think about them too much.
Disulfiram saved my life. I was in a really bad place with alcohol, and this medication gave me the push I needed to quit. The side effects are intense, but they're manageable compared to the alternative.
I was on Disulfiram for a few weeks but had to stop because of some serious side effects, like extreme drowsiness and fatigue. It was hard to function normally. If you ever feel this way, talk to your doctor right away.
I've been trying to weigh the side effects vs. benefits, but I feel like everyone's experience is so different. If you've had it work well for you, I'd love to hear more about your journey.
I think Disulfiram is great, but I wish more people knew about the long-term stuff. I had to ask my doctor about that. Anyone else looking into this?
The burning and numbness sensations were a bit scary, but my doctor reassured me it's not uncommon. Still, it's a good idea to keep an eye on those symptoms.
I'm only on my second week, but I've had some changes in taste and a bit of a headache. Nothing unbearable, but it's definitely noticeable. Anyone else experiencing this?
Disulfiram and alcohol = worst hangover ever. If you can't handle the idea of being that sick, you probably shouldn't try it. But it worked for me.
I'm on day 7 and I'm feeling fine but I keep seeing all these side effects in the comments. Is it normal to feel fine?
