I've been prescribed Methylprednisolone 16mg Tablets for my rheumatoid arthritis and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the possible side effects. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? What should I expect? I'm particularly worried about the more serious side effects like infections or Cushing's syndrome. Has anyone experienced these or know someone who has? How do you manage the side effects and when do you know if it's serious enough to call the doctor? Also, are there any tips or tricks to make taking this medication easier? I've been on and off Methylprednisolone for my lupus flare-ups. The worst side effect I've had is severe irritability. It was noticeable to both myself and my husband and family and it would persist for hours after each dose. But I found that time of day didn't matter so much, so I ended up taking it after dinner. It was really hard on my family and so I decided to stop taking this medicine and find a new solution. It made me realize how much my husband and family had to put up with and I don't think I would want to go through that again.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but ROTFL at the comment about sweating too much. I went from sweating to being a puddle of water. I had a bucket in my room to catch it all. It was a hot mess. But it was worth it to get my allergies under control. I was sneezing so much I was dizzy and it helped with that.
I was on this medication for a severe allergic reaction. The side effects were manageable, but I made sure to monitor my blood sugar levels regularly. I had two incidents where I got a cold and my doctor bumped up my dosage to help with the inflammation. High blood sugar can sneak up on you with steroids, so it's vital to keep an eye on that. After those side effects went away, I've only had very mild stomach aches from taking it and I've found they go away with eating some food.

I really hope people stop taking this medicine. I got a weird rash on my face and I was terrified it wouldn't go away. I had to stop taking the medicine and get medical help. Don't go through what I did.
