Metformin 500mg/5ml Solution: My Experience and Questions
I recently started taking Metformin 500mg/5ml Solution for my type 2 diabetes. While I understand its benefits in helping control blood sugar levels, I've been experiencing some side effects that are quite uncomfortable. I'm curious to know if others have had similar experiences and how they managed them. The urgent side effects mentioned are particularly worrying. Has anyone else dealt with any of these, and if so, how did you handle it? Also, what are some effective ways to manage the more common side effects like stomach pain and diarrhea? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I can't stress enough how important it is to stay hydrated. Dehydration can exacerbate the side effects. Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
I've been on Metformin for years and the side effects did subside after a few weeks. Stay hydrated and eat smaller, more frequent meals. It helps a lot!
I had diarrhea and stomach pain badly at first, but my doctor recommended taking it with meals. Made a big difference for me.
Metformin can cause lactic acidosis, which is serious. Keep an eye out for muscle pain, trouble breathing, and unusual sleepiness. If you experience these, get medical help immediately.
Honestly, the worst part for me was the initial adjustment period. But once my body got used to it, I've felt so much better. Just stick with it and give yourself time to adjust.
Has anyone tried combining Metformin with other medications? I'm curious if it helps with the side effects or if it makes things worse.
I had a mild rash initially, but my doctor prescribed some topical cream and it cleared up quickly. Not fun, but manageable.
