Life saver or risky business? My experience with Cipro-HC Otic for ear infections
I've been dealing with persistent ear infections (otitis externa) for months, and my doctor finally prescribed me Cipro-HC Otic Suspension 10ml. This seems like a heavy-duty medication, what do others make of this? What are the odds of experiencing side effects and how do they compare to not treating the infection? Although the antibiotic and steroid combo should certainly kill the bacteria and reduce inflammation, I'm a bit worried after reading about the potential side effects. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this medication? Are there any recommendations or tips to mitigate any possible side effects?

Not sure exactly how it works but I feel like these types of drops always leave the inside of my ear feeling really weird. You know what I mean? Like there's something still in there, but it's just the liquid sulfur or whatever. It's really weird.
I’ve had to use this a few times and it’s always been effective for me. Make sure NOT to use it if you have a perforated eardrum though, you’ll get a fungal infection.
I personally never had side effects and it worked for me. Definitely a good choice if you need to stay away from broad-spectrum antibiotics to save your gut flora.
Oh wow. Yeah. Stay away from this crap. I tried it and felt like the pharmacist gave me poison.
