Life-Changing or Dangerous? My Experience with Midodrine 5mg Tablets for Orthostatic Hypotension

For those unaware, this medication is designed to combat the dizziness and fainting that occur when you stand up due to very low blood pressure. Some days, it’s a lifesaver, while other days, the side effects are incredibly bothersome. I’ve experienced tingling in the scalp and frequent urination, but nothing too alarming. I’ve heard some pretty scary stories about severe side effects, so I’m wondering if anyone else has had significant issues. Also, what has your experience been with reporting side effects to the FDA?
I haven’t had any major issues, but I’ve heard horror stories. My doctor says it’s rare, but you have to be aware of the risks. If you start feeling any of the severe side effects, go to the ER immediately. Seriously, do not ignore them. I've heard of some people who put off going to the ER and ended up having to spend time in the hospital.
