Just started taking Potassium Chlor 20% Liq (40meq/15ml) for low potassium. Anyone else use this?

I was recently prescribed Potassium Chlor 20% Liq (40meq/15ml) to treat low potassium levels. I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the severe ones. I've been mixing it with water and juice but it's pretty unpleasant. Has anyone else had experience with this? How did you deal with the taste? Also, what kind of side effects did you experience, if any? I'm really hoping to avoid any of the severe ones. Are there any tips for minimizing side effects? Thanks for any help!

Be careful with this stuff. I ended up in the ER with an irregular heartbeat after taking too much. Not fun. Follow your prescription exactly and stay in touch with your doctor.

I had to stop taking it because I started feeling dizzy and my heartbeat was off, but it could have been a coincidence. Just watch out for those symptoms and if you get them, go see your doctor ASAP.

I never had any severe side effects, just some mild stomach discomfort. But I've heard it can be serious if you overdo it, so definitely keep an eye on that. Remember, it's better to err on the side of caution and talk to your doctor if you feel weird.

I had some stomach issues when I first started, but they went away after a few days. Just give it some time. Also, make sure you're not taking too much at once. Maybe try splitting your dose into smaller amounts throughout the day.

I've been on this for a while now. Mixing it with lots of juice helps with the taste. Just be careful not to take it with grapefruit juice, as it can interact with the medication.

I found that taking it with a meal helped a lot with the stomach issues. You might also want to talk to your doctor about switching to a different form of potassium if the liquid is too harsh. Some people do better with pills or slow-release forms.

The first time I took it, I felt super cold and had a weird sensation in my chest. I stopped taking it and told my doctor, they said to start again with half the dose and go slower. That worked much better.

Just found out that high potassium levels can cause numbness and tingling. Anyone else experience that?

This stuff is awful. I mix it with apple juice and it's not much better. Definitely try smaller doses and see if that helps with side effects.
