Just Started Pyrazinamide 500mg for TB - What to Expect?
I've just been prescribed Pyrazinamide 500mg Tablets as part of my TB treatment regimen. I've read about the possible side effects, but I'm curious to know if anyone else has taken this medication and what their experience was like. Did you experience any of the serious side effects? How did you manage the more common ones like muscle pain or upset stomach? I'm a little nervous about the potential for liver problems, so any advice on monitoring that would be greatly appreciated. I was on Pyrazinamide for a while, and while it was tough, I didn't experience any of the serious side effects. Just the usual muscle pain and upset stomach, but my doctor gave me some tips to manage them. Plus, the pain was worth it in the end to beat the TB.
I'm on this too. My doc said it's best to take it just after a big meal and to drink plenty of fluids.
I didn't have any side effects, but I drank a ton of water and took it on a full stomach.
Just remember, if you feel any of the signs of a severe reaction, get to a doctor ASAP. It's no joke.
I had to keep a food diary, just to make sure what I was eating wasn’t making the side effects worse.
