Just started Levothyroxine 0.150mg (150mcg) Caps for Hypothyroidism: What to Expect?
I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and my doctor prescribed Levothyroxine 0.150mg (150mcg) Caps. I've started taking it, but I'm not sure what to expect in terms of side effects and how long it will take to see improvements. Has anyone else been on this medication? What was your experience like? Any tips for managing side effects or adjusting to the new routine would be greatly appreciated. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the serious ones, so any insights would be helpful!
I've been on Levothyroxine for a few years now, and it's been a lifesaver. The first few months were tough with some hair loss and fatigue, but it's all smoothed out. Give it some time, your body needs to adjust. Stay hydrated, eat well, and don’t forget to monitor your thyroid levels regularly.
Be patient. I felt like crap for the first month, but soon after I felt like a new person. Keep in touch with your doc and let them know about any changes, even if they seem minor. They'll help you adjust the dose if needed. It took me a while to find the right dosage, but now I feel great!
But be careful! Some people think it's all about weight gain or loss, but it's so much more than that. I wish I had listened to my doctor more and not freaked out so much.
I was really scared about the side effects, but honestly, I've had none! Just make sure you take it at the same time every day and on an empty stomach. It took about 3 months to feel normal again. Good luck!
I'm taking it as well, but I was on it two years ago too. I probably have Hashimoto's, or something else going on. I'd recommend trying to keep a food journal and seeing your doctor frequently to adjust.
I felt so much better after a few weeks but do monitor your levels regularly.
Really? I hope I don't get a headache or a fever...I have enough to worry about.
