Just started Lamotrigine Blue Starter Kit 25mg T: Any Tips or Experiences to Share?
I've just started taking the Lamotrigine Blue Starter Kit 25mg T for my bipolar disorder. I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the skin rash. Has anyone else used this medication? What was your experience like? Any tips for managing the side effects or adjusting to the new medication would be greatly appreciated.
I've been on Lamotrigine for a while, and I can say taking it with food helped me avoid some of the stomach issues. Also, my mood has improved quite a bit. Just make sure you don't skip doses. I know the side effects can be tough, but it's worth it, imho.
Dizziness is a common side effect. Just be careful when you're getting up from sitting or lying down. Give it a few weeks and monitor how much you can handle.
I started with the 25mg dose and it was tough at first. I felt really tired and had some stomach issues, but it got better over time. For me, the benefits on my mood outweighed the initial side effects. Just hang in there and keep your doctor in the loop.
I have a friend who's a nurse, and she says it's really important to stay hydrated while on this medication. Plus, make sure you keep all of your doctor's appointments. They're there to help.
Have you tried keeping a journal of your symptoms and how you feel? I've been doing this, and it's a great way to track progress and feel in control, for me personally, anyway.
Some people experience temporary weight loss when they start. Not sure why. Watch your diet and keep taking it!
I feel you. The dizziness was rough, and it took me a few weeks to get used to it. It's funny, sometimes it felt like I was walking on a cloud. Side note: exercise helps get rid of drowsiness. Be patient, it gets better.
Oh, and if you have trouble sleeping, try a warm cup of milk and a bit of honey. I know it sounds cheesy, but no one knows
