Just started Clindamycin 300mg Capsules - what to expect and how to deal with the potential side effects?
Hey everyone, I just started taking Clindamycin 300mg Capsules for a bacterial infection. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else taken this medication? What were your experiences like? Any tips on how to deal with the side effects, like diarrhea, stomach pain, or vomiting? I'm also wondering about the more severe side effects like skin reactions or kidney problems. Should I be worried? Any advice or reassurance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Serious question: what do you do if you experience a severe skin reaction? Should I just go to the ER?
I'm a nurse and I've seen some nasty cases of Stevens-Johnson syndrome. If you experience anything like that, get to the ER ASAP – it can be life-threatening.
I took Clindamycin a few years ago for a skin infection. I had some stomach issues, but nothing too bad. Just make sure to stay hydrated and take it with food.
Be careful, I got a pretty bad rash from this stuff. Had to stop taking it. Doctor switched me to something else.
