My pediatrician just prescribed Cephalexin 125mg/5ml Susp 100ml for my kid's ear infection. I've never heard of this antibiotic before and I'm a bit worried about the side effects and how to manage it both for effectiveness and safety. Has anyone else used this for an ear infection, especially in a child, and how did it go? I want to be prepared for any potential issues, especially the severe ones listed. I used to work in a pharmacy, and Cephalexin is generally well-tolerated. Just follow the instructions and it should be fine.
Cephalexin is quite common for ear infections. My child took it and it worked fine. Just make sure to finish the entire course even if symptoms improve.
