Just got put on Pot Chl/nacl 0.15/.45% Inj, 1000ml - anyone have experience with this IV fluid?
I've just been prescribed Pot Chl/nacl 0.15/.45% Inj, 1000ml by my doctor to help with hyponatremia and hypotokemia. I've never had an IV fluid like this before, and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. How was your overall experience? Did you notice any side effects? Any tips for making the process more comfortable? I'm really curious to hear from anyone who has some medical knowledge as well. Thanks in advance!
I wish they gave this to me after my marathon. I felt like I was dying that night.
Not if it's administered correctly. That's why it's important to have a medical professional monitoring you.
Be careful with this stuff. I had a bad reaction and ended up in the ER. Make sure your doctor is monitoring you closely.
Yeah, but isn't there a risk of too much potassium? My uncle had a heart attack because of that.
It's not just saline. My doctor said that it helps keep your salt and potassium levels balanced. It's important for your nerves, muscles, and heart.
I've never heard of this. I know it's an IV fluid, but what does it actually do? Isn't it just saline?
I had this for a few days after my stomach bug. It made me feel so much better. I actually slept through the night because I wasn't so thirsty.
Good luck with it! Just remember to speak up if something doesn't feel right.
This thread is making me nervous. I hope I don't have to get an IV anytime soon.
