Just got prescribed Tropicamide 1% eyedrops - what should I expect?
I just got prescribed Tropicamide 1% Ophthalmic Solution 15ml for an upcoming eye exam. I know it's supposed to make my pupils bigger, but what should I expect during and after the dilation? Will my vision be blurred for a long time? And I don't see any dosage instructions - how much should I use? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Your vision will be blurred for a few hours, and you'll be sensitive to light. Bring sunglasses! I had them once, in the end it wasn't a big deal but was really annoying at the time.

Usually, one or two drops are enough. Your doctor should have said that, though. Call your doctor's office if you need more info.

Fun fact: people don't normally get the lens of the eye dilated before they see the doctor.
