Just got prescribed Tropicamide 1% eyedrops - what should I expect?

I just got prescribed Tropicamide 1% Ophthalmic Solution 15ml for an upcoming eye exam. I know it's supposed to make my pupils bigger, but what should I expect during and after the dilation? Will my vision be blurred for a long time? And I don't see any dosage instructions - how much should I use? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I got these drops a few days ago. It was a little blurry, but I was fine. Honestly, the information on the bottle is more helpful than any advice.

Your vision will be blurred for a few hours, and you'll be sensitive to light. Bring sunglasses! I had them once, in the end it wasn't a big deal but was really annoying at the time.

I had a really bad experience with these drops. I had some weird allergic reaction - it was scary.

Usually, one or two drops are enough. Your doctor should have said that, though. Call your doctor's office if you need more info.

I had this once. I wish I could remember the brand - I remember they were over the counter. It was a little blurry but I had no problem.

That's rare. I've had them a bunch of times and never had any bad reactions. Just be prepared for your vision to be funky for a bit. But call your doctor if you have any problems.

I was terrified when the pharmacist told me my eyes would be dilated. I thought it was scary that I couldn't see, but in the end, it was fine. I mean, you know that it's temporary.

Fun fact: people don't normally get the lens of the eye dilated before they see the doctor.
