Hey everyone, I just got prescribed Demerol 75mg/ml Inj, 1ml for managing post-surgery pain. I'm a bit nervous because I've never been on an opioid before. I've read up on the possible side effects, especially the urgent ones, and it's a bit overwhelming. Has anyone here had experience with this medication? How did you handle the side effects? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Serotonin syndrome is no joke. Make sure your doctor knows about all the meds you're taking, including supplements. Better safe than sorry.
If you have any history of breathing problems, be extra careful. Demerol can slow down your breathing, which can be dangerous if you're already at risk.
I used Demerol for a few days post-surgery and didn't have any major issues. But I did feel like I was in a constant daze. Just be careful and listen to your body.
I had to stop taking Demerol because of severe stomach pain. Turned out I had a bowel issue. Don't ignore any severe symptoms.
