Just got my toddler's Pfizer Bivalent COVID-19 vaccine! What to expect?
I just got my 3-year-old vaccinated at the pediatrician. The appointment went smoothly, no issues with waiting time or staff. I was a little nervous about potential side effects but the doctor walked me through the common ones and reassured me. The injection site was red and slightly swollen afterwards, but my little one didn't seem to mind. I'm just curious to see how other parents are handling this. I want to make sure my toddler is protected, but I'm also keeping an eye out for any side effects. What should I expect in the coming days? Has anyone else had experiences they want to share?
My son was so fussy after the vaccine. He just wanted to be held and comforted. We also kept the lights dim and the noise down. He was back to normal the next day, though.
Our toddler threw up a few hours after the shot and was a bit sleepy the next day. She didn't have a fever and she returned to normal by the end of the day. We did notice, though, that she cried a lot when we tried to change her diaper due to pain at the injection site.
