Is it safe? Hyperrab 300iu/ml Inj, 1ml side effects discussion
I was recently bitten by a stray cat and have been prescribed Hyperrab 300iu/ml Inj, 1ml, a Rabies Immune Globulin (RIG). The list of potential side effects is overwhelming, so I wanted to see if anyone has had experience with this medication or can provide some reassurance. I'm particularly concerned about the allergic reactions and blood clots mentioned. Has anyone else dealt with these issues? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was given Hyperrab after a bat got into my house and I woke up to it on my bed. I didn't feel anything, but the authorities made me get the shot just in case. I was treated for rabies a few years ago after my dog got into a fight with a fox and bit me. I had to get a series of shots and the RIG. The injections hurt a bit, and I had a fever for a day or two from the vaccine, but no severe side effects. Just do what your doctor says, and you'll be fine. You can do this!
I had a bad reaction to this shot, ended up in the ER with a severe allergic reaction. It was scary, but thankfully, the doctors were able to stabilize me. I guess I'm just allergic to this particular medicine, but my doctor didn't have that info before giving me the shot. Make sure your doctor knows all your allergies before starting the treatment. I work in a wildlife rehab center, and we see a lot of rabies exposures. Most people who get RIG deal with the prick of the needle and that's it. A handfull of people had reactions. If you can, put ice on the injection site to numb the area and ease pain. Push through, OP. You'll be fine.

My cat had contact with a bat, and I was given rabies vaccine and also RIG. I didn't get any extra side effects from the RIG, thankfully. But the rabies vaccine is a whole other ballpark.
