I'm scared of my upcoming Kcl/d5w/nacl .15/.45% Inj, 500ml 'drip' — any helpful advice?
I've been prescribed a Kcl/d5w/nacl .15/.45% Inj, 500ml IV drip due to severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalances. I'm quite anxious about it. I've heard it can cause some serious side effects, and I'm not sure what to expect. Has anyone had experience with this particular IV solution? How was your experience? Did you face any major issues, and how did you cope? Should I be doing anything specific before or after the treatment? Any advice for someone about to get an IV drip for the first time? Make sure to tell your nurse if you feel any tightness in your chest or throat, as this could indicate an allergic reaction.
