I just received Dextrose 10% Injection 1000ml IV and it freaked me out. I had no idea that I could get this many side effects from glucose solution. I am looking for real life experiences.
Hey everyone, I was recently hospitalized and received Dextrose 10% Injection 1000ml IV for fluid and energy balance. I saw the list of side effects and it's pretty scary! I know all medications have side effects but this just seemed daunting. Does anyone have any experience with this IV and ability to tolerate it? Are there any tips on how to manage any side effects that might come up? I would appreciate some real-life stories and advice.
Dealing with severe fluid and electrolyte problems is no joke. If you feel any of those signs, definitely call your doctor. I went through this once and it was terrible.
