How does Nystatin have worked for you treating thrush and other yeast infections?
I just started taking Nystatin 500,000 Units Oral Tablets for a severe case of thrush. My doctor said to swish the tablet in my mouth before swallowing to get the best results. Has anyone else had success with this? I've been experiencing some mild stomach discomfort, so I wanted to see if anyone else has had similar side effects. Also curious about the best way to manage any side effects like stomach pain or diarrhea. How did you handle them?
I've never had any issues with Nystatin, but I've heard horror stories from some friends. I think it's one of those medications that can be a bit hit or miss depending on the person.
Definitely swishing the tablet is key to getting the most out of it. It feels weird at first, but it helps a lot. I've found that taking it with a bit of food helps reduce the stomach discomfort.
This stuff has been a lifesaver for my recurring yeast infections. I've had a few occurrences of diarrhea and nothing else nasty, but it was always worth it.
Side effects aren't always bad, but I had a ton of diarrhea and vomiting. Definitely do not recommend trying this if you have sensitive stomach.
Be careful, some people can have really bad allergic reactions. I had a friend who had to go to the ER because of this stuff.
