Has anyone used Silvadene 1% Cream for burns? How was your experience?
I recently got prescribed Silvadene 1% Cream for a burn injury and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone used this before? I want to understand what to expect, both in terms of healing and side effects. The description mentions skin irritation and changes in skin color, but I want to hear real-life experiences. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'm an ER nurse and we use this a lot for burn patients. It's generally very effective, but you do need to watch out for those allergic reactions. If you experience any signs, stop using it immediately and get help.
I had no idea this stuff could cause liver problems. Scary stuff, definitely something to keep an eye on.
I used Silvadene for a bad burn a few years back. It worked well and I didn't have any major side effects. Just a bit of skin irritation initially, but it went away quickly.
I had to switch to something else because of a severe allergic reaction but that could just be me.
If anyone experiences difficulty urinating, that's a serious issue and you should go to the ER
I've used it and the burning sensation was the worst part. After that it helped a lot.
I find it scary that it can cause more severe side effects. I would be contacting your doctor if you see any signs of an allergic reaction.
