Has anyone used Mydriacyl 1% Ophth Soln 15ml (Tropicamide) for an eye exam? What was your experience?
I have an upcoming eye exam and my doctor prescribed Mydriacyl 1% Ophth Soln 15ml. I've read that it can cause some side effects, including blurred vision and a dry mouth. I've also seen that it can cause some serious side effects, including allergic reactions and muscle stiffness. Has anyone used this before? I'd love to hear about your experience and any tips you might have. Also, how long does the side effects last? Is it safe to drive after using this?
I had a really bad experience with it. I got severe eye pain and my heart was racing. I had to go to the ER. I would definitely recommend being careful with this one.
Seriously, how long does the blurred vision last? I have kids to take care of and can't be seeing double all day.
I used Mydriacyl for my last eye exam. It was fine, just a bit of stinging when I put the drops in. My vision was blurry for a few hours, but it went back to normal eventually. I didn't have any serious side effects though, so I can't really comment on that.
I experienced some mood changes, but I think it might have been a coincidence. My daughter was hospitalized for an allergic reaction, so I was a bit on edge.
Eye drops can be scary, but it's worth it if your doctor says you need them.

Headaches are common, but make sure to stay hydrated.
This seems like a bad medication to me. If you don't trust your doctor, a second opinion could be good.
