Has anyone used Levofloxacin 1.5% Opth Soln 5ml for bacterial corneal ulcers? Share your experiences and side effects!
I was prescribed Levofloxacin 1.5% ophthalmic solution for a bacterial corneal ulcer and I'm wondering if anyone else has used this medication. How effective was it for you? Did you experience any of the side effects listed, like changes in eyesight or throat irritation? I want to know what to expect and any tips for managing side effects. I'm also curious about the urgency of seeking medical help for symptoms like fever or severe eye irritation. Anything you can share would be greatly appreciated!
I noticed some changes in my eyesight while using it. It was a bit disconcerting but I stuck with it because it was clearing the infection. It's important to monitor these issues and consult your doctor if they persist.
I used this for a corneal ulcer last year. It was pretty effective, cleared up the infection in about a week. But man, the burning sensation was awful. I had to deal with it for a few days. Make sure you keep your eyes closed after putting the drops in to let it absorb properly.
I had a really bad reaction to it. I started feeling like I couldn't breathe and my throat was swelling. Scariest part was the tightness in my chest. Luckily I got to the ER in time.
Just a heads up, if you're sensitive to bright light, this might not be fun. I had to wear sunglasses indoors for a bit.
Make sure to report any side effects to the FDA. They need to keep track of these things.
This stuff is a lifesaver when dealing with infections. I've had to use it several times with my dog who has recurrent corneal infections. The vet said it's effective and works fast.
I had a bad taste in my mouth for a few days. Was worth it to get rid of the infection, though.
