Has anyone used H-Chlor 12 0.125% Topical Solution for wound care? What was your experience like?
I've recently been prescribed H-Chlor 12 0.125% Topical Solution for a persistent wound on my leg. I understand it's a very dilute solution of sodium hypochlorite, similar to a very weak bleach solution, used to clean wounds and kill germs. I'm curious to know if anyone else has used this and what their experience was like. Did it help with healing? Were there any side effects? How often did you apply it? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
I had a bad reaction to it – Swollen face and hives. I had to go to the ER. If you get any signs of an allergic reaction, don’t mess around, go to the hospital.
I used it for a nasty cut on my hand. It stung a bit at first, but it really helped keep the wound clean and it healed quickly.
I used it for a fungal infection on my foot. It worked well, but the skin around the area was pretty irritated. I had to take a break from it for a few days and then go back. It’s a bit of a hassle, but effective. If you get a rash or any other issue, talk to your doc. That's what I did.
I keep a bottle in my first aid kit. It’s great for minor cuts and scrapes. It keeps them clean and you can usually skip the band-aid.
I’ve heard it can help with fungal infections too, did anyone try it for that?
